Wizard of Oz Party Decorations

Wizard of Oz party decorations can be found online or at a local party store.
Take yellow wrapping paper and a brown or black marker and make it look like bricks, you can use this as a wall decoration or to decorate the top of the table etc. You can also do this with yellow sheets to make a walking path.
Take white stockings and a black marker to maked striped socks (if real ones aren't available) and place red shoes at the end. Place this toward the doorway of your house or inside against a wall.
Wizard of Oz posters are fun ideas. If you can't find posters, use google images to find photos of the Wizzard of Oz and print to place on your walls.
Play the CD of the music in the background of your party.
Use posterboard to make decorations like yellow bricks, rainbows, scarecrows etc.
Streamers are a great room filler. Use light blue and white for Dorthy's dress, or yellow and white for the road. Pick any colors that help with your theme.

Wizard of Oz Party Activities

Follow the yellow brick road is what you will say when you give a scavenger hunt. Give questions about the movie that hint to areas of your home or yard and send the kids on a scavenger hunt to find all the yellow bricks. You can use yellow spunges as the bricks or draw on paper. For example, "Auntie Emm was holding this item" (broom).
Pin the pic on the pic. Use a poster or draw a picture on poster board and do your own version of pin the tail on the donkey. This makes a great Wizard of Oz party activity.
Relay race assemble your scarecrow- take articles of clothing and place them on one side of the game. Have two kids race at a time while using a timer. The fastest kid to take each article of clothing from one line to the next wins. For straw, cut bristles out of a clean cheap broom and tie them together so they are easy to carry.
